Congressman Andy Kim Announces Endorsement From New Jersey State Council of Machinists

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced that he has been endorsed by the New Jersey Council of Machinists, part of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (“IAMAW”), in his race for US Senate. The New Jersey State Council of Machinists represents over 23,000 members in New Jersey who work in hundreds of different occupations in industries such as aerospace, transportation, the federal government, automotive technician, truck technician, and warehouse, among others.

“Since launching my campaign for the United States Senate, I have strived to build a broad coalition of New Jersey workers and families so that together, we can fight for the people of New Jersey, not big corporations,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “This endorsement from the Machinists, a union that has been a leader in protecting, preserving, and expanding the rights of the working class since its inception, only strengthens our coalition and I thank them for believing in this campaign to get results for them at the Capitol."

“Congressman Kim’s record of standing up for the working class speaks for itself and our union trusts that he will be ready to show up and fight for our members starting on day one,” stated Cristino Vilorio, New Jersey State Council of Machinists. “Given his six years as a lawmaker in Congress, we know he is the candidate who has the necessary experience to be able to achieve lasting results for workers. As Senator, he will be a champion for not only our union but workers across the entire state and we are proud to endorse Andy Kim for United States Senate.”

Congressman Andy Kim was first elected to Congress in 2018 and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked to deliver improved health care for veterans, relief for homeowners suffering from Superstorm Sandy, and has been a leader in strengthening congressional ethics and getting money and its corrupting influence out of politics.
