Congressman Andy Kim Announces Endorsement from RWDSU in Bid for U.S. Senate

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced the endorsement of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union in his race for U.S. Senate. RWDSU represents 10,000 members across the state who work in a wide range of retail including clothing and jewelry stores, as well as automotive service, parts and accessory stores, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing, and in the public sector in New Jersey.

“Members of the RWDSU are involved in almost every facet of our economy and fight for their workers to have a seat at the table in so many industries; I am proud to have them join our team this year,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “If I am the next Senator from New Jersey, I will stand up for workers, not big corporations, and I look forward to working with the RWDSU to create lasting change at the federal level.”

“The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union is proud to endorse Andy Kim for election to the U.S. Senate,” said Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). “We know that Andy Kim will fight for working families because he has a track record of doing just that. Our members need a New Jersey Senator who will fight for them in Washington, who will bring the challenges of the streets they live and work on every day to the Capitol, and the funding home to make everyday life better. RWDSU members in New Jersey are ready to send Andy Kim to DC!”

Congressman Andy Kim is a three-term Member of Congress first elected in 2018 and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Andy has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
