Happy Earth Day!

Earlier this year, as we dreamed of Spring, we bought our boys a telescope so they could take a closer look at the world's wildlife. Ok, to be honest, it's just the wildlife in our own backyard, but there is still so much to see. My kids have really started to get a kick out of birdwatching:

Birdwatching!

They've seen a squirrel and lots of bugs, too.

And a squirrel! And bugs!

They're still searching for robins though. I'm sure they'll spot one soon. (They're very determined. Also, we've got a lot of robins around here.)

Birdwatching!

My boys, and millions of kids just like them, are learning to love our planet more every day, and I want to make sure that feeling can grow throughout their lives. That's why I'm committed to passing critical climate legislation that will make the planet more livable for generations to come by cutting our dependence on fossil fuels – and preserve the beauty and wonder of the world around them.

Some of my most fulfilling moments of being a dad have come from seeing my boys' excitement and wonder when they interact with nature. Each glimpse of a blue jay or a beetle opens up their world a little wider.

We owe them – and every other child, grandchild, and generation to come – a world that not only sustains life, but inspires and excites them, and I'm proud to stay with you in this fight until that future is secure.

Happy Earth Day,

Andy
